This coming Sunday, on the 6th annual Garden Day, all South Africans are invited to head out into gardens to welcome spring.

It is a day to celebrate gardens and appreciate the ‘fruits’ of the hard work we do there.

Looking to host something on Sunday? Here are some tips to get your garden ready for it…

To Dos:

• Today – Rid your garden of any weeds, dead leaves and flowers. Cut the lawn and trim your hedges.
• Friday – Water where necessary (early morning).
• Saturday – Plant something bright and colourful. Visit your nearest nursery and take your pick of all the plants in bloom.

Suggestions: Calibrachoas or roses.

• Sunday – Celebrate!
