Earthworms!

Earthworms are our gardens’ unsung #heroes. Carefully burrowing through our beds, and turning organic matter into nitrogen-,potassium, phosphorous-, magnesium- and calcium-rich compost. Earthworms improve water drainage, aerate and enhance the overall structure of the soil.

Want to create a happy environment where earthworms can flourish do the following:

• Make sure your soil pH ranges from 5-8
• Regularly add organic matter
• Look at ways to improve the temperature of your soil

Earthworms do not like it when it is too hot or too cold

• Keep soil moist but not wet
• Don’t disturb your soil
